In a galloping start to the year, the team from Uptake attended the North Island In-Hand All Breeds Show on the weekend of 7th and 8th January, an annual event of which Uptake is a new sponsor.
The show celebrates the diversity of horses in New Zealand, from miniature to heavy horse breeds and everything in between, in a relaxing atmosphere, suitable for competitors of all ages.
Uptake is a New Zealand owned and operated company, based in Taupo, specialising in helping farmers manage soil, plant and animal health using fertiliser combinations designed to meet the needs of individual farmer and farms.
“We have an interest in helping all types of horses to improve health, condition, growth and performance with our specially designed blend of natural seaweed, high-quality trace element fertilisers,” says Tarnia Morris of Uptake. “We help horses have a balanced diet on a daily basis.”
As well as the North Island In-Hand All Breeds Show, Uptake sponsors the Make a Wish Foundation, Utiku Old Boys Rugby, individual Rugby Players, Dog Trials and Flemington School in Waipukurau plus many more.
“We like to support small non-profit organisations as we understand how hard it is,” says Tarnia.
This year’s North Island In-Hand All Breeds Show was the biggest one so far, with an all-new committee.
“This show is important to us as it promotes all breeds of horses from minis to Clydesdales,” says Tarnia, “and we love all types of horses.
“Handlers of all ages are able to compete and it is a good all round family show to watch.”
Uptake has been in business since 1984. Their strategy of replenishing the nutrients in the soil and their success in growing the health of stock has made them industry leaders in environmentally friendly fertiliser production.
