WAIKATO-BASED Manuka Honey producers, SummerGlow have reached out in an act of social giving to sponsor the 2015 Raglan Christmas in the Park. The event, which is held on every second year for the community will this year be held on Sunday the 6th of December at the Kopua Domain from 5pm.

This year’s event will feature one of New Zealand’s most popular entertainers, Stan Walker, who will perform along with a range of other top community acts. Walker won Australian Idol in 2009 and has since had triple platinum album success. Stan Walker has also one five New Zealand Music Awards, acted in movies such as Mt Zion and recently released Born to Dance as well as judge X Factor NZ.

The event, which is being organized by Surfside Church, is expected to attract double the turn out this time around. The Congregation of Surfside Church as well as the community are excited to be hosting Stan Walker but the event organisers wanted to stress that this is not a Stan Walker concert but a family friendly variety concert featuring a number of acts as well as childrens activities and a visit from Santa for the Raglan Community.

The cost of holding Christmas in the Park is met by fundraising sponsorships from the local community and businesses and grants by the Waikato District Council and various trusts. This year the event is likely to cost twice as much as it usually does so sponsorships from companies like SummerGlow is vital for the event’s success.

“SummerGlow have been sponsors of our Christmas in the Park event for a few years now and this year they have stepped up their sponsorship to become a platinum sponsor,” says event sponsorship co-ordinator Norris Peart.

“The Raglan Christmas in the Park is a free community event with community acts as well as this year featuring Stan Walker. The family event is put on for the Raglan community to enjoy and hopefully will display the true meaning of Christmas throughout,” adds Norris.

The cost of having Stan Walker perform as well as the cost for extra security and other facilities during the bigger event this year means sponsorship such as that from SummerGlow is really important and extremely appreciated.
